At a Loss for Words?
Can you believe we’re into the second half of JULY already? Summers pass by so quickly. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.
We’re also well into the 3rd quarter of the year, which means if you haven’t done so already, you’ll want to take a quick pause to assess your progress toward meeting the goals you set back in January that you wanted to achieve by year-end. Are you on track?
Sometimes when taking stock, we realize we’ve sidelined an important goal or project because we just didn’t know where to start. It seems too hard. We’re waiting for inspiration to hit. Or some free time so we can think straight and really dig in.
One of the most common things I hear from my clients is they have a vision for the end result they want, but they have no idea how to write it – what to say, how to make it sound right, and how to make sure it will “work” and get their audience to take action.
And that makes sense. We wear a lot of different hats when running a business, and if you stopped to study a new skill from the ground up every time you had an important project to complete, you’d never get anything else done.
If not knowing what to write is preventing you from achieving one of your key goals for 2023, here are a few ways you could tackle the problem:
Set aside a block of time. Outline the key points you want to cover. Put yourself in the shoes of your target audience and ask, “Why is this important to them?” Write the copy in a way that answers that question – what they care about, not crammed with everything you know about the topic. Make sure to add a compelling CTA (call to action).
Ask an AI tool to write it for you. Then fact-check the output, edit it so it doesn’t sound generic and boring, be sure to apply your own brand voice so it aligns with who you are and what your customers expect you to sound like, and inject personality and empathy for your target audience until it sounds like something they’d actually want to read and engage with.
Go to my Contact page and book a quick call with me. Tell me about your objectives for the project. Ask me any questions you have about my process. Review the quote I’ll provide after the call. Let me know if you want to move forward, and if so, I’ll get started – and you can get ready to check that goal off your list before any more of 2023 slips through your fingers.
