Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge by the hour?
No, I price by project. After your initial free consultation, I’ll draw up a scope of work to include the services we discussed. I’ll then provide you with a quote for the entire project. You’ll know upfront what the cost will be for the scope of work outlined, so there are no surprises. If you decide later you want to add another element to the project, I’ll create a separate quote for that, so you’ll always know in advance what your cost will be.
What are your qualifications?
I have a BA in English and I trained in copywriting through the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy. I also “trained,” dare I say, through a couple decades of working within the ranks of middle management at a Fortune 200 company. I’ve delivered good news and bad news, presented information in writing and verbally through reports, slides, email communications, and conference calls. I’ve written company policy and process manuals, flowcharts, and job descriptions, edited SOX documentation, and negotiated in writing with executives and customers in a wide variety of industries. Whatever your copy needs, my writing skills are a proven force to be reckoned with!
Can you work with me if I’m not local?
YES! From the free consultation call to the conclusion of the project, we can work together remotely, over the phone or Zoom. I also regularly work with local clients remotely, whether that is for convenience or due to Covid concerns.
How do I know if I can afford you?
Don’t worry - I start all potential client inquiries with a free consultation. In this process, you share what needs you have and I’ll begin to understand the scope of your project. Free consultation calls carry no obilgation. I’ll simply gather information during the consultation, after which I provide you with a quote for your project. We don’t begin work together until you’ve reviewed that quote and decided you want to move forward.
How do you invoice and what payment methods can I use?
I use Square to send you an electronic invoice. This will come in the form of an email. Once you open the email, there’s a button to click that says “Pay.” From there you can choose your preferred payment method. Square works with all major credit cards, debit cards, and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. It’s very user-friendly. I actually chose it because I love when I get invoiced via Square as a consumer. A few clicks and my invoice is paid, and a receipt appears in my inbox.
I have a need not listed on your services. Can you help?
I’d love to hear about your project, and if it involves writing, there’s a good chance I can help. Try me!
